Sheet Metal Programmer

Trufab Ltd is a large engineering solution specialist.

We specialise in bespoke fabrications ranging over many sectors. Our philosophy is to retain as many processes in house as possible.

From the sales and estimation team you will be provided landed works order that will need to be broken down into nest for all of production across the shop floor.

We use Radan and solidworks for both 2D and 3D cad work for nesting on our in house laser and press brakes.

Trufab also offers a degree of flexibility in regards working hours. You may start between 7:30-9:00am and finish between 3-5:30PM Monday to Thursday. Friday start is between 7:30-9am and finish between 1:30-3PM.

COVID-19 considerations: Social distancing is available in offices, working from home can be arranged with the other CAD programmers on rota days.

Due to continued growth and expansion Trufab Limited is currently looking for an experienced, skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join the team and become part of our industry leading company!

About the Role – Sheet Metal Worker:

  • The successful candidate will work with bending, forming, finishing departments in the creation of bespoke fabrications from laser cut stainless steel and exotic metals, in accordance with internal specifications and customer order requirements
  • The successful candidate should have a good understanding of pattern development, the geometry of sheet metal and be capable of hand finishing to a high standard but above all you must be an exceptional fabricator.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following duties:

  • Forming, bending and rolling in various gauges ranging from 0.5mm to 12mm.
  • Ensuring that the parts you fabricate reflect the customer drawing and are created to a high standard, first time every time.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised working area

Required Skills/Experience:

  • You must be experienced in sheet metal processes including fabrication and sheet metal assemblies combining fabricated and machined components
  • Ideally you will be apprentice trained (C&G/Btech) but applications will be accepted from all levels of qualification
  • You must be highly competent in general Sheet Metal duties including deburring, drilling and tack welding and be fully conversant with engineering drawings/types of angle projection etc
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system would be a distinct advantage
  • TIG and MIG welding experience would also be beneficial although this is not essential as for this role the bias is towards TIG tacking and fabrication capabilities.

  • You must be experienced in welding and weld processes
  • Ideally you will be apprentice trained (C&G/Btech) but applications will be accepted from all levels of qualification
  • You must be highly competent in general welding duties and be fully conversant with engineering drawings/types of angle projection etc
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system would be a distinct advantage
