Trufab Latest Update – COVID-19
Considering recent events and a world crisis I find myself asking one question, am I being irresponsible staying open?
After the announcement from the PM on Monday evening stating Lockdown, this question has been asked of me several times by employees, family members, suppliers and even customers. As we supply to many key sectors such as Pharmaceutical, transportation and the food industry and have been contacted by many customers asking for my stance on whether we are staying open or not, I would like to address this once and for all.
Trufab Ltd will stay open, in fact, we must stay open. We have been contacted by “key supplier status” customers to stay open which essentially grants us this status. With direct links to the supply chain for Tesco, many pharmaceutical companies that will directly deliver to the NHS, we are on the list to supply Ventilators and now have a contract to supply pathogen testing equipment. It would be irresponsible for us to close as our products may impact the lives of many.
Many of the “key supplier status” companies have also granted direct routes for our suppliers to remain open if they are essential for the operation of Trufab, I cannot guarantee they will stay open, but hopefully they will keep operational to make an impact in these hard times.
We are doing all we can at Trufab to minimise the risk to our employees by enforcing the social distancing rule where applicable, splitting the workforce to 3 zones, splitting breaks for the different zones and enforcing strict cleanliness rules across the shop floor, lead times will be affected as you can imagine but we are doing all we can to keep as normal as possible.
The show must go on for Trufab until we are told otherwise, and we will take this day by day.
